NSF-Supported Workshop
Sponsored by the EPSCoR Centers Development Initiative (CDI)

EPSCoR Large-Scale NSF CISE Workshop
Date/Location
November 15, 2004  |  Hilton Old Town Alexandria, Alexandria, VA
Goal
To help EPSCoR researchers better understand what it required to develop competitive proposals for NSF CISE centers and large-scale projects. Programs to be targeted include:

RESEARCH
 -  Cyber Trust
[NSF CISE Cyber Trust] | [NSF 04-524]
 -  Research in Networking Technology and Systems (NeTS)
[NSF CISE NeTS] | [NSF 05-505]
 -  Computer Systems Research (CSR)
[NSF CISE CSR] | [NSF 04-609]

INFRASTRUCTURE
 -  Computing Research Infrastructure (CRI)
[NSF CISE CRI] | [NSF 04-588]

Participants
The workshop will bring together EPSCoR researchers in relevant disciplines who are interested in competing for large-scale CISE programs, key NSF program officers, and exemplary NSF-funded PIs (to give “best practice” talks on what it takes to develop competitive large-scale CISE proposals and run successful large-scale CISE grants).
Background
The EPSCoR Centers Development Initiative (CDI) is funded by NSF to provide consulting and technical assistance to research teams in the EPSCoR states competing for NSF centers and other large-scale projects. CDI also maintains a portfolio of proactive workshops as a way to affect a larger subset of the EPSCoR community and to uncover specific projects for its technical assistance portfolio.
